Ken is a Certified Financial Fiduciary® and a Co-Founder of Independent Investment Advisors.
Ken’s Academic and Professional Background
Ken studied through The American College of Financial Services and received his Registered Financial Consultant (RFC) designation in 2000 and the Certified Financial Fiduciary (CFF®) designation in 2019. He used his experience from his academics and created a career that has spanned more than 29 years in the financial services industry. He began his financial planning career in 1992 with Physicians Health Care Plans.
In 1996 Ken became a Registered Representative with Washington Square Securities specializing in insurance, investment, and tax planning for business owners in Southwest Florida. From 1999 to 2006 Ken worked as a Financial Advisor for a national accounting firm specializing in combining tax and financial planning services. Then, in 2006 Ken partnered with Robert Schlager and Reina Schlager to establish the independent firm of SCHLAGER SCHLAGER & LEVIN - SS&L.
Ken holds many qualifications but he feels his most important characteristic is how he treats his clients. He strives to make everyone he works with and their families know that they can rely on him to be there for them on a personal and business level.
When he works with a prospective client, he doesn’t focus on the portfolio size. He focuses on the person, what their needs are and how his office can help. Not all prospective clients turn into clients and that will never change the way Ken approaches people. Finding a financial advisor isn’t a one size fits all approach. The advisor and the client must fit in and be comfortable with the partnership.
Likewise, he holds the series 6, 7, 63, and 65 securities licenses as well as the health, life insurance, and variable annuity licenses.
